Today I almost died in the cab on my way to andy's crib to watch the world cup.

The cab driver was severely disorientated and was going at 110km/h towards a divider between Thomson and Bishan along Braddel road. When I saw the dividers and he was heading straight toward it, I got up shouted at him ! He made a sharp left and inertia had caused me to hit the right window with my forehead and sprained my left neck!

I'm currently okay but I'm worried about having internal injuries.

I will be testifying against the driver and take this case to court!

It reminded me how a friend of mine who passed away suddenly when they discovered a blood clot in the brain after banging her head against a glass panel some time back.. And even with a basic x ray and check up couldn't determine the outcome until 2 months later where she just fainted in the office.. It reminded me why I left insurance too.. It reminded me that it's important to be insured..

This has been my second accident in my life... Damn

How to Speed Up your Mac When it seems sluggish?

I am pretty amazed with my findings as of late, I have thought of reformatting my computer because it seems sluggish but didn't dare to install snow leopard as it sucked pretty hard for me when I first installed it and how it fucks up all my music softwares etc. so one bad experience has made me decide not to port over to the new 64 bit system ( well i am running a macbook anyways, till i get the mac pro.. )

So if you are having the same issues as me when you experience sluggish system, chances are , you haven't been maintaining it. 

You will need to first download this free software called OnyX . Just Click on it to head to the link.
(Do note there are 2 versions one for 10.6.x and another for 10.5.x)

Install and run this software and you will be ask to verify, this process will take forever but its worth it! After running it i discovered that my Mac Permissions and Volume has some errors ( The cause of the sluggishness i presume )

Just follow the instructions given and fix the necessary errors in my case, I had to fix my volume structure and I did so by inserting my Mac OSX installation Disc that came with my Macbook, Hold C and restart it to boot with your Disc.

While you are booted with the Disc, scroll to the above menu and look for Disk Utility.

Click on the first aid tab and just click REPAIR DISK PERMISSIONS.

It may seem geeky to do all this basic stuff but trust me! My computer is running as if it has just been installed and not only that, it is running all my previously installed softwares too!

I AM SO SMART! :)

So why the sudden change and the decision of growing plants and going all green thumb? Truth is, I don't know myself either but it feels right.

It feels right to be looking at these kinda stuff and feel a sense of appreciation which I never had before, never ever kept any living things in my life and figured it's time to be responsible over some things.. If I can't even keep a cactus, I can forget about having a child :)

Today is a pleasant day and I've actually found myself playing blues and jazz piano! Something I never thought I'm ever able to understand but guess what? There is nothing to understand! It's all about how you feel!

Nonetheless I jammed and jammed and Andy popped by exchanged music went over to fetch ling our bro and we went to mustafa!

The hair dryer was a great buy and having spent 3 hours there, I think it was relatively fruitful.. It's nice to be out here and there..

YEAH so I was engross with playing the keyboard (which i hardly played till now) and i figured in order to play this song, you gotta get the groove in ya and just have no fear of hitting the wrong note... okay thats how i learn to play random bullshit anyways but hey its sounding way much better since i first started!~ I am really excited to play more~!! Today, I made a discovery about FLAC files as to compared with your usual AAC and MP3 files.

They sound extremely AWESOME on your speakers! But in return you are giving them about 5-6 times the usual size of ya mp3 files.. well it is definitely worth it for audiophiles like myself :P

Unfortunately, not all FLAC may be worth the space as some of their AAC or MP3 counterpart may sound almost the same. For example, if your audio happens to be an audio book where there is only vocals involved, you may want to consider ripping them in MP3 or AAC instead as it doesnt have much "dynamic range" as to compared with musical stuff without compromising much on the quality too.

I did a personal test with timbalands shock value 2 album, one of which i had them in Mp3 and the other in FLAC too, the funny thing about them is that they sound exactly the same  and I rejected the FLAC files since it takes up so much space..

On the other hand, I was playing with Natalie Imbruglia's Torn and i hear so much difference in the Audio quality! Well, I guess there are still many mysteries to solve as I progress but what a discovery nonetheless :)
