Blue Suede Shoes

Its my last week with royalefam and it has been one hell of a journey for me this far.

Thinking of which, all the lessons I've ever learnt here has proved valuable be it simple skills such as basic photography, photoshop, working with youtube, social medias like twitter, facebook, working with logistics, building relations with people, handling the back end of the web-store, handling the front end of the web-store, packaging, handling customers enquiries, troubleshooting random stuff, experiencing difficult situations with my bro, working with Eileen , Raymond and now Derek, finding out how to get things done with Jon and Jason, to pretty much bigger issues like what is and what is not working with my life, What is my purpose on earth, What is my passion, what do I really want to do, handling unresolved issues, dealing with consequences, etc. probably stuff that I will take years to learn on my own has been accelerated here.

Well, just recently, I saw a twit from @dutyfreesins (Eileen) which really caught my attention and it was "Don't let dreams be dreams" or something along that line, its something that really resonates with me this far. We all have dreams but how many of us dare take an action and step into it? Sure I have lots of considerations and fear and shit like that but I learn to choose my own life. Cause its my life and nobody should tell me what I can or cannot do. Only I can.

I guess we could say whatever we want but nobody should be able to take away our dreams away. Its funny that I have been working on my blue suede shoes and the song lyrics came to my attention..

"You can knock me down, step on my face,
Slam my name all over the place
do anything that you're going to do
But uh uh honey lay off my shoes
But dont you , step on my blue suede shoes
You can do anything but lay off my blue suede shoes"

Well my blue suede shoes represents my dreams now and its gonna be my producer shoes! Woohoo!

I was clearing out my shoe cabinet in hope I could make more space for more shoes, sure enough I cleared out all the shoes I have not been wearing such as some vans chukkas, Maharishi moccasins, super old sbtg Nike sb,some old running shows, some old converse, and still I have not enough space to keep them all but at least some respect now whew.

Like how I removed all the songs that I do not listen to in my iPod, I did the same thing for my shoes and each pair that remains in my wardrobe holds something really dear to me. It's like every pair somehow tells a story so here goes :)

Chinese New Year

(download)

I wasn't the most ready person to celebrate Chinese New Year with a bang I guess. I probably bet that there are many others like myself. Still I am committed that it stays memorable and fun.. Having had my brother's Laksa was a great experience. I can remember clearly his description of why he chose the ingredients he choose, and the way he describes it really gets into you..

"You know how Laksa is jialat... like super gross stuff? Squeezing the Thai Lime will neutralise that effect, Using Water Crest and Tao Geh adds on the color of the dish to make it look presentable and the Basil Leaf changes the whole experience of having this bowl of laksa"

Well its along that lines but damn the laksa was good and more importantly, its easy to make.. :)

We went butter factory and the initial horror we had was that it was totally empty. Well, we thought we might as well drink up and see what happens since there was one for one.. and sure enough the fireworks caught my attention! We also had the privillage of having Jun to photograph our experience there. Its awesome and thank you June. The photos were great.

I've managed to somehow video the whole fireworks and this time I am armed with my best gadget of the year, the iPhone! Woohoo!

Taking a half day break today really raises the morale of everyone In the office, at least there is some time to mingle and socialize and really get to see what's up with everyone around us!

Today we had the privillage of heading down to Lasalle and visit Phunk Studio's office to hang out for abit! I'm totally attracted to the environment of the school and yes there were musicians, artists, dancers and they all seem to be engrossed in whatever they are doing and that is totally awesome!

We visited the cafe in the school compound itself called "15 minutes" and we fell in love with it instantly! It felt like we were in an American bar with a stage for live performances ( much like the one in the sitcom f.r.i.e.n.d.s )

We ordered a great deal of stuff and They all tasted fabulous ! I must say I'm impressed with the people and the lifestyle there in general. Oh yeah we met our friend who happens to be a lecturer in the school Ginette, she is one super fun character today! I'm truly impressed by everything! Speechless and dumbfounded. I'm coming back here to chill definitely !

Mark buys iPhone finally!!

As reluctant my bro wants to change his Nokia 6610, I've manage to give him no excuse to not change by offering to call his service provider and sort the administrative, follow him to queue, have dinner, and proceeding with the purchase.

I know that this is a phone that will eventually take over half the world's population ( blackberry will take over the othe half ) and we all have to some how move on !

While waiting for our queue number to be called, we went on to have our Dinner at din tai fung . It seems like a pretty nice place an they serve really good food! Pretty satisfying but still too expensive in my opinion!

Now that I'm in the train making my way back, I wish I can get back asap as I have been shit tired since I woke up today ! Thank god it's Thursday tomorrow!! My off day! Woo hoo power sleep mmm !

Day 1 In Japan

Day 1

Upon touching down from the airplane, I was rather tired as I did not have a good sleep on the plane.. Even when I was heading to my hotel in the bus ride there, I had runny nose and slight discomfort. Nonetheless, upon reaching the hotel, we started our Journey in Shibuya. The area where we are staying. Obviously I wasnt familiar with my surroundings and as such I was rather dazed seeing so many things at one go. It wasnt that impressive to be honest at the beginning for me.. however all that changed the moment we headed to Harajuku Via Cab. While we were in Harajuku, we have managed to successfully walk most of the areas.. I begin to think like WOW this is like haji lane cept its so many lanes that it forms a Somerset like area... and the weather is cooling unlike Singapore.

All the brands you ever wanted to see, you can find it easily here in Harajuku and Ode something somehting  and aoyama where you can see everything and everything. Headporter, Comme Des Garcon, Neighborhood, Visvim, Kickslab, Black Flag, RATS, W Taps, Undercover, Junya Watanabe, Hysteric Glamor, Seriously there is so much more i cant remember but these are definitely the places that breaks your heart literally. The moment you stepped into Neighborhood. you are lost of words. You just simply do not know what to do anymore.. thats how hardcore it is.. just when you think the game cannot be stepped up, there comes bathing ape.. an amazing concept store that you cant help but just admire the area... and then just when you think that is it.. there comes Hysteric glamor... the interior is comparable to louis vuiton in singapore.. and then just when you think that is it... there comes Undercover.. with the amazing lightbulbs decor.. minimalist design... and the brilliance of Jun Takahashi's interior and futurism.. fuck. and just when you think this is it... you come to think to your self... Damn thats only an area here.... all gathered in one place... made for people to go crazy..

The whole day walking alone was enough todrain me out.. it was a reccese project and we are still up for Sunday where we are suppose to work at Kickslab event.. basically to hang out there and clinch as many sales as possible.. during my trip here, i must say I finally got excited the moment i stepped foot into Harajuku area...

Then we went back to revisit Shibuya at night.. this time the scene was totally differnt.. its like WTF this is Shibuya? A night metropolis where people are all over the place.. walking and looking awesome.. I cant tell you how much fun this place is.... I guess thats all I have to say for Day 1 ... Stay tuned for Day 2.
